Soeum Sam, 81, of Lowell, MA died Wednesday, January 23rd at her residences. She was married to the late Sin Ting, who died in March 1975. Born in Cambodia, she was the daughter of the late Bie Sam and Som Khuth. She was educated in Cambodia; she came to the United States in April 1983, and became a U.S. citizen in 1997. She was a very active member of Glory Temple of Lowell, MA. As a single mom she loved spending time with her family, traveling, cooking, gardening and shopping. She is survived by her sons Kimsan Ting of Lowell, Phisith Ting and his wife Sophy Diep of Lowell, John and his wife May Ting of Derry, NH, daughter Chansou Khem and her husband Phan Khem of Lowell, Sophany Ting and her husband Keo Huon of Lowell, Melody Ting and her husband Eddie Dom of Lowell. Her brother Sok Sam of Cambodia, and sister Seng Sam and her husband Plo Oun of Cambodia. Along with 15 grandchildren and 8 great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Soeut Ting.
